Healthcare has no borders — and neither should kindness. From our first day, BookMedTrip has promised that nobody in genuine need is turned away because of our fees. This is how that promise works, and where it came from.

Where the Idea Came From

Our founder's family learned what care without conditions looks like at Sohana Hospital in Mohali, which began in 1995 as a charitable hospital on a simple principle: those who can pay help cover those who cannot. When we built BookMedTrip, we wanted that same spirit — sarbat da bhala, the welfare of all — to be part of the company, not an afterthought.

Four Ways We Give Back

  • 量力而付If you genuinely cannot afford our services, we reduce or waive our own coordination fees, case by case. Hospital bills are set by the hospitals.
  • The Care FundGuidance and a helpline for people in India who can't afford basic healthcare or women's hygiene products, and help for patients from any country in genuine need.
  • Daughters of the HimalayaDignity, health, schooling and livelihoods for the women and girls of remote mountain villages — above all through the winter snows and the monsoon, when the roads close.
  • Homestays with Himalayan familiesWe help families build safe homestays with internet and a website, then send them guests — see our guide to Himachal's hidden valleys.

Together, the Care Fund and Daughters of the Himalaya receive 10% of BookMedTrip's net profit. Every contribution is recorded, and we report back on what it changed.

Everyone Can Take Part

You can donate to the Care Fund in US dollars or Indian rupees, volunteer your skills, introduce a family that needs help, or simply stay in a village homestay. If you need help yourself, ask us — in any language.
