After treatment

After Treatment: a Recovery Roadmap from Hospital to Home

Les premiers jours après la sortie, la kinésithérapie et les visites de suivi, quand il est possible de reprendre l'avion, et comment les soins continuent une fois chez vous — une feuille de route simple pour les semaines suivant un traitement en Inde.

Treatment is one day. Recovery is weeks, sometimes months — and it is where good care quietly makes the biggest difference. This is how we plan the time from the hospital bed to your own home.

1. The First Days After Discharge

Before you leave hospital, make sure you have the discharge summary, the list of medicines with doses, wound-care instructions and the date of your first follow-up. Stay close to the hospital for the first days — a hotel or serviced apartment within a short drive, with a caretaker or nurse if needed. We arrange nurses, caretakers and physiotherapists who visit you where you stay.

2. Movement and Physiotherapy

For joint, spine and many heart operations, gentle movement starts early and grows each day. A physiotherapist will set a plan; follow it, even when it is tiring. Chandigarh's flat, tree-lined walks and Sukhna Lake promenade make daily walking easy — see why Chandigarh.

3. Follow-Up Visits

Most treatments need at least one check before you fly home — stitches, scans, blood tests or a final review with the specialist. Keep a folder of every report; your doctor at home will need it.

4. When It Is Safe to Fly

Only your treating doctor can say you are fit to fly. It depends on the procedure and how you are recovering, which is why we book flexible tickets. Long flights after surgery may need extra legroom, compression stockings, or a wheelchair at both airports — we arrange these in advance.

5. A Week in the Hills, If Your Doctor Agrees

Some patients spend a week or two recovering in the mountains — fresh air, home-cooked food, gentle yoga — before a final check in Chandigarh. Read ten Himalayan stays near airports and Ayurveda alongside modern medicine.

6. Care Continues at Home

  • Complete discharge summary, reports and scan images
  • Medicines list with generic names, so your pharmacy at home can match them
  • A follow-up video call with the specialist, if they recommend one
  • Your coordinator's number, for any question after you're home

Families matter as much as patients in recovery — read care for the carers.

Questions fréquentes

When can I fly home?

Only when your treating doctor says you are fit to fly. It depends on the procedure; we plan flexible tickets for this reason.

Will my doctor at home get my records?

Yes. Ask the hospital for the discharge summary and reports; we make sure you leave with a complete set.
